Would Propecia once a week be effective?

If i were to take finasteride once a week, would it be effective at all, and would it cause the same side effects.

Im tired of the mess my topical regime is, and i would love the ease of popping a pill. But, i did have sexual sides from taking saw palmetto, and i cant afford to have those again.

So what do you think...worth a shot?

I doubt you would notice any change at all with 1 mg of finasteride once a week. I would rather do 0.25 mg EOD in that case. I don't think that would be especially effective, but it's better than no finasteride at all, if you're cocerned about hairloss.

Well I'm currently in the process of gradually going back on propecia after having tried 0.25 mg every day late last year and getting major side effects. Right now I've been doing 0.5 mg every 4 days for over a month now after doing 0.5 every 5 days for about 2 or 3 weeks before that.. and almost overnight right from the start of the whole thing I noticed a dramatic and undeniable decrease in shedding which has held steady so far. (no unbearable side effects so far too this time, knock on wood) I'm still building up little by little and moving up the frequency of the doses so it's not like I plan for this to be my maintenance level though.

so do you think if i tried once or twice a week i would avoid side effects?
I already have a low libido....im afraid experimenting with propecia would kill it completely.

once a week won't help you. I whatever dose you take keeps your hair I am not sure it wouldn't give you sides as well...IF you are destined to get them anyway.

The sides you get from saw palmetto might be totally different from the ones you get with finasteride. This is because we can't regulate saw palmetto doseage like we can finasteride doseage for hairloss.

i'm wondering about this as well... i mean it is likely that that small of a dose wont stop your hairloss, but will it decrease or slow your hairloss at all?
For example if i did this for 5 years would it be completely ineffective or would i have slightly more hair than if i did nothing?
