So I'll give my whole story from start to finish:
I suspected that my hairline was receding/thinning or whatever since around early fall of 2017. Crown looks fine currently. This was bizarre to me since no male in my family has apparent hair loss (though I do have a small family, so I don't have a lot of people to compare to). Dad has a perfect hairline, and both of my grandfathers had big puffy hair and perfect hairlines until the day they died. I've monitored my hair loss VERY thoroughly since suspecting I had a problem to the point where it's a daily obsession, and visited a dermatologist last November. She said that she doesn't think I have male pattern baldness yet, and advised against taking any hair loss medications at this stage.
I've compared the pictures that I've taken since last fall with ones that I have from around summer of 2016 where I had my hair parted to the side (I wear long hair since I started getting self conscious about my hairline), and I swear on a stack of bibles that my hair thickness and my hairline are the same. So this tells me that, for the last two years, if I've suffered any degree of hair loss in my life, it hasn't worsened. I even found some pics of me when I was like 8 where my temples were kind of thin looking, and I basically never had strong looking temple peaks like Tom Cruise or anything, so this might be a kind of natural hairline.
Nonetheless, my potential hair loss bothers me just because it feels like I have a 50 year old man hairline as a 24 year old. It probably doesn't help that my forehead is large enough to project a movie on. I know so many people on this forum have it worse and I apologize if it feels like I'm obsessing over trivialities, but it bugs me to the point that I've considered some sort of hair transplant since finasteride and minoxidil don't restore your hairline as far as I know.
Should I go to another dermatologist and see whether they think I would be a good candidate for a theoretical hair transplant? I've uploaded some pics for reference.
Thanks, and I apologize if I've displayed any ignorance of baldness and baldness treatments, I'm here to learn.
