Hello!

I noticed I was thinning at the crown of my head about a year ago. I've been watching it since and things seem to have stayed about the same. My family also says I started thinning years ago and just didn't realize until last year, but things haven't gotten much worse since then.. I'm just glad I didn't notice this years ago or that would've really sucked.

Anyways, I got a haircut recently and that's shown (to me at least) how bad it is. What do you guys think? Should I buzz it at this point? I'm pretty tall (6-4") so no one sees the top of my head a lot, but I do sit down at a desk all day. Just want to get some opinions on how bad it really is since I know we're all our own worst critics and it's so obvious to me, but who knows to others.

Also, I've never had a buzz and wore pretty long hair for my life until recently when I got it cut. Do you guys think a buzz cut would suit me? Just don't want to do anything too drastic at this point if a buzz wouldn't suit my face.

These are also after work without doing anything to it for the day. The last one is once its combed which makes it look a bit less noticeable, I guess.

Don't buzz it you can barely notice the thinning as it is. If you want to keep your hair, you simply need to get on finasteride. You can try rogaine and it might even improve and maintain for a couple of years but its likely you will continue to thin. If you get on finasteride, you will not only stand a very good chance at keeping your hair for at least another 10 years, I am very confident it will basically regrow your entire crown so there is no thinning visible.

Good luck.

Thanks for the information. I might look into that and see if it's something I'd do. I've heard a lot of stories though about the side effects, do I feel like it's quite the risk.

Do you think my face shape would look okay with a buzz cut? Don't know if I'll ever completely shave as I like the stubble on people even if it's thin, but just concerned that a buzz will make my face look really bad.

Get on finasteride and save your hair. Buzzing/shaving your head will be a sexual death sentence for you. Keep your hair man.

Lets start off the male pattern baldness topic with do you really care that much? Some men dont and if thats you then congrats your cured! That is the easiest and cheapest solution with almost no risks. If you do care hence on this forum asking then yes there arent many options. Its almost use propecia or accept fate. Nothing else works, but also use minoxidil its super cheap no reason not to.
You definitely have hair loss though so if it bothers you then dont deny it just take action soon.
