Would 0.5 mg every other day be beneficial whatsoever?

So I start on a 0.5 mg dose of finasteride everyday. Hair was doing good, but I started getting sexual sides. Being very young I got scared that this wouldnt reverse, or I wouldnt ride the phase out and things would just get worse. Anyway I lowered my dose to 0.25 mg, and the sides remained.
I stopped the drug and the sides are gone. I'm thinking of starting 0.5 mg every other day.
Would 0.5 mg of finasteride every other day be beneficial at all, or would I rather not even bother?

The half life of finasteride in the body is a couple of days long.

The half-life of finasteride in the bloodstream is only around 5 to 6 hours in younger men (a bit longer in older men). But the biological effect of finasteride lasts a lot longer than that, because cells produce the 5a-reductase type II enzyme (the one that finasteride inhibits) only very slowly. After the last dose of finasteride that you take, it takes a week or two for serum levels of DHT to get back to normal, even though the finasteride itself is long-gone by that point.
