Hey guys i noticed a little bit of thinng hair 5 months ago and directly started minoxidil, now 5 months later my hair is disastrous.
I tought at the beginning that this was normal but right now im pretty sure that i have some extremely harsh male pattern baldness, or maybe a hairdisease which i dont know of. I already went to the dermatologist for this (5 months ago) and she prescribed the minoxidil.

Im pretty sure that i am one of the worst cases of male pattern baldness on this site, im defenitely going to start finasteride, but i doubt that its going to help.

I can't tell if you're trolling if you're seriously freaked out, but to my eye you have no classifiable hair loss. That spot on your crown where you can see scalp is called a hair spiral. Bald spots are very different things. And at the front (I can't tell from the angle what your hairline actually looks like), you could at most be a Norwood-Hamilton 2, which is not considered hair loss. There are plenty of men who have a full head of hair their whole lives who get to NW2 and never go past that.

All that said, I'm not a dermatologist. If you're worried about losing your hair, given that male pattern baldness is a dermatological condition, you should see a specialist.

Finally, note that male pattern baldness is a genetic condition. Does it run in your family?

I'm pretty sure you're trolling, that or you've never seen another balding guy before. I think you do have male pattern baldness, but people with far worse hair loss, and younger than you have posted their topics in recent days. In comparison yours is nothing. But you should go to a specialist and treat yours.

My father was almost totally bald, except for a little bit of hair in the front and back at age 28. But he held that hair until now (50 y/o), my mothers brother is 40 and is losing all his crown and front hair . My hair is curly so actually you cant see how worse it really is, i posted a picture of my hair a while ago where my hair was wet and everyone agreed that i had early male pattern baldness and probably would be bald by my 30s. And to me it looks like that hair spiral is way to big and the hair around it is also thinning. Maybe its the light or w/e but i dont notice anything like this in other males of my age. Anyways thanks for the reply! I have another appointment at the same dermatologist this friday, ill keep this thread updated

Dude has clear hairline recession in his temples.. I dont understand why some of you are attacking him claiming he's trolling. His photos are pretty obvious..... unless some of you are blind?

Yes!

But, the fact that people claim that he's trolling is because there are many users here that are fightning Norwood 4++ patterns and Vpelli claims that he has the "worst balding ever," when some will be PERFECTLY happy with this state.

I'd give up everything in my bank account to have his hair.

3V at 18. The top down temple photo is clear. If he was to push the hair up from the temples, it would be clearer. It's not the worst case of balding ever, by any means. Take some action and maybe it can be saved.

It's not that bad. 3V? Think again about that V... Vertex is almost fine.
And about the front...photo in that angle can be misleading. We need to see a photo from the front.

It's still cosmetically good hair, but yeah you are receding/ Your crown is almost fine and almost certainly will fully recover. Chances are your hairline will probably stay where it is, maybe grow back a little, and the whole thing will thicken up if you get on finasteride/minoxidil now.

UPDATE: now on finasteride, finally got perscription, also had a bloodtest with it. After 5 months of minoxidil i didnt notice regrowth, global thinning on top of my head, i guess it slowed down the thinning. Hairline is receiding, right side is receiding way harder than my left side.

@Vpelli - The forehead hairloss happens because of DHT which comes from testosterone. The alcohol delivery mechanism in the minoxidil solution makes your hair more reactive with DHT , get off it asap.. If you have a minoxidil in a Gel form, try that. That will give you the benefits of minoxidil without giving you the sudden trauma of dry brittle hair.

@Zzzz - The kind of hair loss you suffer from is just a density issue, its not yet extinct. Try a natural treatment like Castor Oil, it dramatically boosts denstiy while you still have hair.
p.s. there are many natural cures in this world which people dont know about.. i recommend you look into this.

Why not just provide us with those natural cures along with your before and after pics.

Update: crown (photographed with a light directly above it). Overall i dont see so many hairs as i used to in my pillow, however when i shower i can still count like 10-20 hairs (i actually avoid making my hair wet so i only wash my hair every 2-3 days). image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgEdit: this was right after dryinh my hair, usually its more curly but this way you can see the problem more clearly

I'm thinking of stopping all this hairmedication, i've been thinking a while now and i just dont like the fact that im spending much money on things like minoxidil and finasteride.Although the doctor gave me permission to take finasteride, im not going to do it, i emailed her today asking for advise and her experience with patients using finasteride and i got the following answer "the treatment i prescribed to you does have side effects in some cases, but under supervision of a doctor this can be done, they also use the same treatment in the university hospital".

So basically she's telling a customer that he should do it because they do it somewhere else too?Although my bloodtest was "positive",t his seems a little vague to me. Anyway, i might turn back on my decisions but for the moment im not pressured to put my health on risk by taking medication where i dont know if it will even work. By the way, i think this video is really interesting, it shows alot of information on finasteride and the downsides of it. http://www.propeciasideeffects.com

health at risk lol. The worst thing that could happen in a rare scenario is you won't get boners easily for 3 weeks
