The World Anti-Doping Agency added alpha 5-reductance inhibitors on the prohibited list under the category masking agents  . Thus finasteride is prohibited at all times for competing athletes. Might be possible to get exemptions for therapeutic use, but I'm not sure if hairloss would be a sufficient medical reason. Anyways, I'm occasionally competing in power lifting and am taking 1.25mg proscar a day.

Say exemptions are not given for the use of fina for hairloss purposes. How long prior to a competition do I need to lay of the fina in order to come out clean in a doping test? If I cut my daily dose in two in the month preceding the event, would that lower the levels of fina in my body sufficiently?

Thanks

I'd say quiting 2 weeks before the control should be OK. finasteride's half time is about 6 hours as far as I know.
Note that finasteride itself isn't a doping substance but it can make other substances more difficult to detect.

I am in a British military, and we have doping tests, I want to star use finasteride, but I am afraid that I am going to fail a test, does anyone has some similar experience ?

Im in the us navy and I get tested constantly and finasteride has never shown up as a problem. Its a piss test though not a blood test.
