Wondering why people blur out their faces in pics?

Just a random question that popped into my head....why is it that most of the people here blur out their face? It's not like we're on an obesity forum where our problem are caused by our own laziness and we don't want people to see who we are.

The only reason I don't have my face in any of my pics is because I'm doing either crown shots, or close shots of my hairline. I posted pics of my before/after workout results and didn't blur myself. Then again, I've never really given that much of a fu(& about what people thought of me :)

Just curious to get your 2 cents!

Curious as to why you've started trolling people as of late...?

:edit: someone posted a "DID NOT READ!" gif, so I reported it and it got removed. :edit:

Because were guys! We're supposed to be confident and masculine not insecure and vain. No one wants people to see that it bothers them.

Probably because people are concerned that idiots will judge people for wanting do do something about their hair-loss, a bit like the way idiots believe obesity is all about being lazy...

maybe due to thinking others may steal their pictures or somebody will identify them from reality? Nonsense question

Hang on a minute there Gemini

If obesity is not caused by underactivity, eating too much, or a combination then what else causes it?

Those are all often simply symptoms of a much deeper problem. Sadly our judgemental society likes to brand anything they don't really understand as lazy, or freaks, or baldies or whatever.

I live in not a very big town and some of the people here would get off if they seen pics of me after a hair transplant on a hair loss forum, I know they would tell anybody and everybody,so I would be better off keeping it to myself, if I did put up pics I would blur them out so I would not have to hear the bullshit because I like my privacy anyway,I don't think doing treatments like finasteride or something would matter that much but hairloss is not a subject that come up to much around here so way give them something to talk about.

It's an interesting question to be fair, and probably says a lot about our insecurities.

When I started out, I had every intention to be completely "stealth", even some of my own earliest hair-loss pictures have my face blanked.

Something changed about 5 years ago and I've now gone the total opposite, I'm completely "out" about everything from being transsexual to obese and it's worked out really well.

Who is gonna check out a hair loss forum unless they are concerned about losing their own hair. Chances of it coming back are zilch.
Ever heard about "Doxing"?

Chances that obesity can be treated with good results by diet and excercise :90%+
Chances that you can stop your balding w/o exterior help: basically 0%

Not saying that all fat people are just lazy, but I personal know about 15 of them that are.

I guess I can see why people wouldn't want others to know about a hair transplant. I guess that could be seen as "cheating" or something like that. So, that makes a lot of sense.

As for me, I'm pretty sure that most all of my friends know that I'm fighting the hairloss. The fact that they know means that I've been able to help several of them myself when then start to notice that they might be thinning out.

Then again, like I said in my original post....I'm pretty "meh" to what other people think about me :)

Wow, you've cured the world's obesity epidemic; you'll probably get a Nobel prize for that :)

Seriously though, It's no different to saying that being bald can be cured by wearing a wig, or climbing Everest is as simple as nipping up that mountain.

Many people on the internet act different online than in real life...some silly argument could spill over to real life so privacy is a must.

Thats a very boiled down example but you get the idea.

When i was younger, because i thought my mates would absolutely rip the piss out of me (translation: joke at my expense) i'm sure you have a similar phrase I'd go to all lengths to keep hairloss secret, now the thing about 'ripping the piss' out of somebody is it's actually quite socially acceptable and to be honest good fun, providing you're not the target, sometimes if you are the target then it is still funny, but with an issue like hairloss it was too much.

As i get older, i care a lot less so much so, that i have an attitude whereby if i see somebody calling someone for hairloss, then i just say 'it could happen to you someday', or i'll point out a hitherto unnoticed bald spot on someones crown (note: if it's a lady you get slapped)

A: I said "treated", not "cured.
B: I'm still wondering why you seem to latch onto one small thing that I said instead of actually talking about the topic
C: That quote that you "quoted" me on is kinda taken out of context when you just include that small snippet.
D: It's still a fact that, by and large, obesity is more likely to be treatable with diet and exercise than baldness is (w/o altering hormones)
E: I never said that all fat people were lazy...yet you got all defensive and assumed that I was, and accused me of it.
F: I effing love cheesecake.

Genes and Family History

Studies of identical twins who have been raised apart show that genes have a strong influence on a person's weight. Overweight and obesity tend to run in families. Your chances of being overweight are greater if one or both of your parents are overweight or obese.

Your genes also may affect the amount of fat you store in your body and where on your body you carry the extra fat. Because families also share food and physical activity habits, a link exists between genes and the environment.

Children adopt the habits of their parents. A child who has overweight parents who eat high-calorie foods and are inactive will likely become overweight too. However, if the family adopts healthy food and physical activity habits, the child's chance of being overweight or obese is reduced.

Yes genetics play a role in peoples size but theres no one on earth who could'nt lose a great deal of weight with a good diet and excercise. I've never seen a fat marathon runner. Whearas baldies dont have any natural options.
