This was on Health and Discovery last night....I think a one off program hosted by 'Barry' Shaun Williamson. Interesting look into his hair transplant and had to have 2 op's with Farjo who did op himself and proved that he is no good at density even with 2nd op compared to the big US/Canada results on the web. It was o.k. but think he uses some thickener or somthing as it looks thicker on some TV progs he's been on...his hairloss was quite heavy.

3 guys did Acupuncture, minoxidil and some wierd helmet thing (looked a joke). Amazingly the best results were with the Acupunture...I did that for 4 months and it didn't work for me. They didn't do finasteride which seemed a bit remiss considering its the most well known next to minoxidil. Should have done the BIG 3.

Anyone else see it ?

i saw it when it was on originally. mustve been a repeat last night. usual
load of rubbish i thought though i did think the hair transplant looked ok and the acupuncture did look interesting.

taliking of which, theres a similar thing in the express today about
roadtesting hairloss treatments. i think its nourkin, minoxidil and the lasercomb but i didnt get chance to look properly. im sure it will be very informative and helpful to us all :)

ON the accupunture angle............................................

This is kind of the "Follica" approach as mapped out by Costarialis and Kurt Stenn.

When larger wounds happen in animal (mammal) skin in mice, a hair follicle emerges in the center of the wound. It was noted to happen in rabbits fifty years ago. Its not really been tested on humans.

They upped -wnt- protiens around the wound to make this happen. I wonder if someone had naturally generous wnt signalling and DID NOT close the accupunture wounds up there and applied no topical pressure to them (no pillows etc.) for several days/ week, whether or not our skin would attempt to reorganize in a follicle from the skin's epilitheal cells also?

The thing is though.........................even if it did, if it reorganized in an area of the scalp sucseptible to baldness "the first time", it might result in new male pattern baldness hairs. Costarialis noted the new hairs on the animals were not pigmented (white) also. I was personally interested on whether FUE donor holes could have -wnt- protiens put on them and allowed to heal this way...........................whether they'd grow.

I'd love to see the results of an accupunture "session" that didnt' include any other treatment, and was done with "the follica stuff in mind".

Hi there,
I was the guy on the show who had the accupuncture and drank the herb tea.
Also continued on with it along with Propeccia.
Must say nothing work as far as I was concerned.
May have been too advanced in my loss.
If it is not bad enough going bald my my surname is in fact Hair... ; )
Now just shaved it all off and couldn't be happier.
Saved alot of money too.
It was a big step to do but wished I did it sooner.
