i started using minoxidil about 3 months ago, ever since then the bulbs on the hairs that are falling out are white and much larger than they used to be. prior to starting minoxidil these bulbs were very small and hard to see, but now they are very easy to see. is this a positive sign?

from what people are telling me and what i've read in hairloss articles... your hair that falls out should have a whitish bulb... yeap its a good thing..

for me sometimes i don't see white it's just black.

In theory, what gardener says is true. But I wouldnt read too much into what the hairs look like as they are being shedded.

Im not sure Im clear on why bulb size has been associated with "good" or "bad". If anything I think all this demonstrates is that Rogaine is different from Propecia, in that it restarts the growth cycles of hairs that are not necessarily currently going through miniaturization ... whereas Propecia tends to help those hairs which are currently undergoing DHT affliction and would have smaller bulbs......... ..... .... theoretically.
