Will SMP destroy my native follicles?

Hey, guys

Newbie here. I am a diffuse thinner and still have a good amount of hair except on the vertex where I apply toppik everyday.
I've been considering SMP lately as a way to put an end to my hair loss related stress and tiresome treatment regimen. Nevertheless I wish I could just grow out my hair again if i happen to regret this decision. Does SMP destroy the hair follicles?

Ive read that it doesn't and may even stimulate some hair growth. I wonder if the removal process could damage existing hair though? Something to consider because smp isn't permanent and from what I understand it can fade and take on an unnatural appearance after some years
