Will I shed again? Been using Rogaine, now going Propecia

I'm 23 now and I started losing hair when I was 21. I've been using Rogaine for 6 months now and have gone through the initial shedding stage. I will be starting to take Propecia now, and am curious if I will have to go through the shedding phase again? :roll:

Also, will Rogaine help getting back my hair in the frontal and temple areas? I know Rogaine claims it does not work in the frontal area, but wonder if that's said for a particualr legal reason, and wonder if anyone here has any luck growing back hair in the frontl/temple areas.

They say it won't work on the front because they did not test it for frontal loss.

As for shedding, it's hard to say. It seems that minoxidil has already caused a shed so I assume that finasteride may not straight away. But it may in the future... few months down the line....

But it works in different ways for different people..

You think I should go ahead and start finasteride now ? Or wait till after xmas if the only thing I'm scared about is shedding

Its entirely up to you. Start it when you feel most comfortable. Remember, the best you can hope for with finasteride is maintenance. Only the lucky few get regrowth.

I'm honestly just worried about a shed over the Christmas period my rogaine one was bad and I don't want that again, If all I got was maintenance I'd be happy as I've regrown nearly all of my hair with rogaine and I'm only 6 months in

Lucky man! Im a little over 3 months in myself ( i use it orally at 10mg ) and so far ive had general thickening of my hair and some thin strands on previously bald temples. I hope i improve more lol. To answer your question though, if you are stable on minoxidil it is highly unlikely you will shed from finasteride. I think everything will go fine for you

I hope i improve more lol. To answer your question though, if you are stable on minoxidil it is highly unlikely you will shed from finasteride. I think everything will go fine for you
