Will finasteride stop shedding?

I've been shedding/thinning slightly over the past year and was wondering if finasteride would stop the shedding? I'm hearing how finasteride can cause sheds, but I have major shedding anyway without finasteride. Would finasteride stop this? Thanks in advance guys

It is likely to work since it is a hair loss treatment. But I was wondering what would happen shedding wise since people go through sheds while on finasteride

1.Shed initially on finasteride and regrow much after a few months.
2. Keep shedding and go bald.

Choice is yours.
I am 40 days in on finasteride and my daily shed of 80-100 hairs is 20-25 now.

Not OP, but did you gradually see a decrease or did you just notice one day "Wow I didn't shed much at all today"?

I don't know if it was a coincidence or something, but at the 28 day mark the shedding was around 25 hairs. And it has been less since then. And whatever hairs I am shedding now are the pretty thin and weaker ones.
Answering your question - It was a bit gradual. Not all of a sudden though.
