Will finasteride make me sterile. Can I have children.

Ive been on finasteride (finpecia) for 3 months now and have noticed the hair s on my temple growing longer. However, when I pee I have to give an extra jiggle or two cause my prostate is weaker I guess, and sexually I dont get as aroused, physiologically ahem, as before.

Does anyone really know if this drug is going to affect my ability to have children? I haven't seen any discussions here about this but it scares the hell out of me. I'm thinking of trying a topical DHT solution instead. Anyone?

your prosate does not control the flow of urine. I don't know if the drug will affect your ability to have children you shoudl talk with a doctor if your worried about this stuff. Get educated on the matter that's the best thing that you can do.

Finasteride does affect your ability to have children.

If you are uncomfortable with the side effects, look into a topical regimen of spironolactone/Revivogen and Minoxidil.

Why do you say this? I have seen no evidence for this claim. Does it affect sperm counts? Unless there is some scientific evidence for this, I think this is dubious at best. Decreased libido, which occurs in about 2% of users, is hardly the same thing as affecting one's ability to have children.

finasteride does NOT affect your abillity to have children, but it may theoretically pose a potential threat to the unborn male fetus since finasteride (and especially dutasteride) is measurable in the semen. Therefore, if you want to be completely sure that you are not affecting the healthy development of your unborn child, you should consider getting off finasteride or consider safe sex. At least you should be be aware of this theoretical complication and make it your OWN choice! :shock: :!:
