Will finally start Proscar (finasteride) today: what to expect? (Pics)

As I have previously stated here, I am 25-26 years old with a NW2 head of waist-length hair (when wet), my hair is generally curly but thin. Day after day, I tend to "feel" like my hair is getting thinner and thinner (not from a ponytail test though), my crown is almost intact as I have either some tiny thinning or a combination of illusion/OCD. Maternal side is safe, no balding. Paternal side is not though, my father is around NW5 but he's already in his 60s, uncles usually bald later in life.

So I have finally decided to get on Proscar (5 mg) since it's the only available treatment here in my country, I will cut the pill either 1 or 1.25 mg and see if I will add Minoxidil later on. I have a few questions:

1) What should I expect on a 3/6/9 months run? Can I really thicken my long hair?

2) How would it affect the look of my hair? If there is an initial, will I lose length?

3) Can I expect to maintain my hair for at least 15 years?

4) Is there really any tiny hope of regrowing my temple areas?

5) Should I take Proscar as a 1 mg dose or 1.25 dose?

Basically propecia helps in maintaining hair, regrowthis only a bonus If IT will come..
Most probably you will need to wait atleast 6 months to see improvement.
Regrowing temple areas is very hard, as a general idea propeci won't help much i that area.
Yes, if you're a good responder, you can maintain what you have now for 10 or more years.
As a dosage, there is practically no difference between 1 mg and 1,25.
It may be an iitial shed though.

To answer all of your questions in one response, you just have to take it and see for yourself. People have reacted in many different ways. Just have patience, be consistent, and see where you end up.

Take it for at least three months. Dont stop after the first sides if you get them.

2 more questions please:

1) If I continue masturbating on a regular basis (2-3 times a week), will it defy the use of the medication in anyway?

2) Should I consider also adding Minoxidil or wait a year and re-evaluate it after? (Since I really want to re-grow my temples)

But seriously, I am asking from a scientific point of view, since ejaculation leads T to be converted into DHT, what will happen in case if ejaculation really occurs? The T is then inhibited to be converted?

Abstinence actually leads to an increase in testosterone and the whole "masturbation = hair loss" debate is stupid. You can now masturbate in peace.

zdm and notcool pretty much covered everything. Nothing is guaranteed and just as notcool said people react differently.

To answer your wait on the minoxidil question, you could wait to see if finasteride gives you temple regrowth or you could go full force and start the minoxidil alongside finasteride.
