yea i m sure finasteride has enough mechanisms to make your erections weaker , lower dht , somewhat increased estrogen and its effects on neurosteroids.

to be honest mine was too ,and i could get 100 % hard , but it felt like sex wasnt giving me the same pleasure as before so a lot of times my erections slowly got softer and softer.
a friend of mine using ssris had the exact same sides , so i suspect it is not hormonal
(after quitting i ve never had an issue so it was definitely finasteride )

My impression is that erectile dysfunction is created by androgen blockade in the brain, not in the dick.

Meds that cross the blood brain barrier have all given me sexual side effects - finasteride at 5 mg but not 1.25 mg per day, spironolactone 200 mg per day, cypro 100 mg per day.

The only med i tried which does not significantly cross the blood brain barrier is daro, and that has given me no sexual side effects even at the max dose i can use before skin dryness becomes intolerable.

This tells me it's a brain issue. But I don't know for sure. This is just my speculation.

Thats what i currently believe aswell , i had read some studies where T and DHT supplementation didnt improve ED symptoms unless the subjects had really low T values to begin with.
on the other hand the relation between brain and sexual function is undeniable , but well daro is too expensive and too experimental for me !

Your data are anecdotal studies. Finasteride blocks the production of neurosteroids and parasympathetic. Sympathetic and parasympathetic are both necessary for the blood flow and erection of the penis.

Finasteride blocks DHT which is responsible for your erection in the first place. Did you actually think that a blunt value of total T is responsible? Men with total test of 600 at age 50 can’t get it up because their SHBG and free T gone the Dino way. Secondary hypogonadism, low LH production and Finasteride don’t go well, it reduces LH massively so then you feel like you can’t move your legs or jerk off, I wonder why.

Tissue in the penis is damaged, can create all sorts of issues.

The pituitary gland can slow down on the production of hormones. You may notice that after taking it for a while you get blood tests done and your prolactin is down, your E2 too although jokers here will claim “that study says 15% up blah). Guess why.

Total T tanks after a certain amount of time after it’s initial increase you can look that up. SHBG increases and free T tanks. Not only your penis won’t do well but you will feel exhausted. Your face might change a bit by shagging under the eyes etc.

Not to mention the igf1 and liver subject...

Pretty much a testosterone blocker. Not shocking. What I hit from studying hairloss, blood flow is an issue. Erectile dysfunction is next.

Exactly friend. It is a T blocker. You are one of the few individuals with the brain capacity to understand that, believe it or not. Most people usually are in denial.

Personally, I want to keep my hair but, blocking my testosterone and messing around with hormones seems highly foolish. Then again, it matters little if a guy cannot attract a woman to have sex .
