The above is true, but I would actually recommend the use of a lower PPG 5% minoxidil before using 2%.

2% does have a very high alcohol content, so it might approach the efficacy of 5% Rogaine if you are willing to use twice of much of it per application, which siginificantly reduces the economic viability of it relative to a 5% designer minoxidil that has lower PPG.

In a nutshell, if you are using 1ml of 2% each day, it won't cut the mustard.

Something I found out today, but I'm sure other people may already know this, is that 5% is not available in Canada. We're stuck with the 2%. The sites from the States I was on today won't even deliver to Canada. I have to jump the border to buy it myself.

It dries MUCH faster and is less greasy. It is much more consumer friendly.

its best to start out on 2% so you have 5% when u need it in the future. Theres no point in jumping straight to 5% if you could of had results with 2%.

It is by prescription. Otherwise, go to Skinstore.com they ship to Canada, took about 10 days to receive it.

Please don't frighten people from taking medications which could help them unless you have some evidence for your claims.

No drug is totally risk free but topical minoxidil is relatively safe.

Interesting.

So would you all suggest that when it comes my turn to start minoxidil (once I decide if Propecia is effective enough for my needs), that I go with 2% before trying Dr. Lee's 5% ? (product 500).

I think I have to go with a lower PPG minoxidil, because I tried it once before (way back when I first started taking finasteride) and it made my scalp so irritated.

I've never had a problem buying and shipping minoxidil from the US. Just order from Dr. Lee or Ebay and you shouldn't have a problem.
