Why is minoxidil Foam Vanishing from stores?

About three weeks ago, minoxidil foam basically vanished from every store within a fifty mile radius. My local target, cvs, rite aid, etc all used to have it consistently - in both generic and brand name varieties. Now it’s out of stock in every store within fifty miles.

i can still order it from target, but cvs won’t even ship it.

what’s happening here?

Maybe a supply chain issue. Or maybe the pandemic caused some hair loss so there is now a shortage and the demand is super high.

Could just be hoarding. In times of war and crisis, people often hoard various goods. When Covid hit the planet, toilet paper disappeared from stores, probably because of hoarding.

There seem to be quite a lot of shortages going on. I blame insufficient inflation. Insufficient inflation keeps prices below the market clearing level and causes all the shortages we see right now. I haven't been able to buy goddamn peanut butter seemingly for weeks.
