Why don't scientists know how DHT works??

I wonder what the biggest problem with research is, and why they can't figure out the difference between the hair follicles on our scalps, and the hairs on the sides of our heads that don't ever die? How hard is it to throw a bunch of chemicals at the two types of follicles, and learn more about the interaction with DHT?

Is the supply of hair to do this incredibly limited? Hell, that might be our answer- figure out how to clone hair, not for transplants, but for research, to be able to form a billion of combinations of chemicals to find a no-kidding cure.

Just babbling. Good luck.
