Why doesn't this board have a sticky for myths and hairloss facts?

One thing that is consistently pervalent throughout hairloss boards is the spew of conflicting reports of whether a medication does or does not work, where the medication can and can't work, and whether or not medication A causes side effect B. It's extemely bad. There is science to this, and much of it is well-established and agreed upon, but not by the general consensus. Examples include the myth that minoxidil does not work on the front of the scalp, that nizoral 1% is less effective than 2%, and that propecia does or does not cause shedding. People are being given all sorts of right and wrong information and it's time we collectively agree upon the science that exists on hairloss. A sticky must be made for new board members seeking the science, and not Jerry's opinion.

Yeah, i agree there is a lot of bad info out there, and it sucks because it discourages new users from trying things that actually work! I used to have terrible irritation with liquid minoxidil and I considered going foam but some one said "oh foam is less effective and your hair absorbs it and it doesn't make it to your scalp" - but I finally tried foam couple months after and it was one of the best decisions I have made for my hair loss! It feels nicer, I'm seeing better results, it dries almost instantly with no mess and best of all, NO IRRITATION. Seriously, if your hair was so thick that it absorbs foam minoxidil and prevents it from going to your scalp, then you wouldn't be here!! /vent
