Why does it take 3 months for propecia to work?

Whats wif the the number?....how did Merc come up wit it?.....has t got anything to do with hair growth cycles ect?...

Yep. The bane of all male pattern baldness treatments is the time it takes to see results. Having to take anything for up to a year to see results is asinine, in my eyes. But your stupid hair follicles cycle slowly. 3 months is the resting to grow phase.

Its seems from what I have seen on here, and with myself (at least using the big 3) results of some sort, come earlier than 6 months...if they are going to come, I suppose we must qualify.

I have been on finasteride (except for two months) since July of 2004...and it is working VERY well.

But I am also on minoxidil.

i am on 2 1/2 month mark...so will the male pattern baldness shedding stop first before u see regrowth at which month?........according to my Doctor, a senior consultant, he told me u have to take finasteride for at least 4 months before seeing any effect.....

I think your Doctor is right.
It may take 6 months too see a reduction in hairloss and more than a year to see regrowth of hair. :D
