Why do you shed on Proscar?

From what I've been reading, minoxidil causes shedding because it "wakes up" dormant hair follicles or something like that. Now why does Proscar cause a shed when it's a DHT blocker or whatever it does?

I started about a week ago and I notice more hairs in the shower...about twice as much. Does the shed start this early???

Yeah it happens... but it will grow back! Stop counting the damn things and be happy

i started shedding just before 2 weeks, and it grew in thicker at 2 1/2 months, so i believe that yes that can happen. im shedding now though at 4 months, since month 3 so fingers crossed.
