Why can't it be that I take a blood test to check my DHT, then my doctor gives me 0.1mg of finasteride every day for a month and then I do another blood test to check the DHT?
I just don't understand how finasteride can be prescribed so arbitrarily. What is so great about dropping the DHT by 60+%? I'm simply looking to slow down the rate of hair loss, why can't my DHT be dropped by say 15%?
I tried to explain my proposition to two doctors. One didn't seem to understand that Finasteride drops DHT levels and the other simply said he didn't know what to do.
It seems completely ludicrous that my Dermatologist would prescribe me finasteride with absolutely no questions asked.
So far I've been taking 0.125mg EOD because I thought maybe that would mean that my DHT is dropped by less than it would be at 1 mg but I know that I'm lying to myself I have no idea what I'm doing.
So far I've taken a total of 0.25mg.
