So one thing that struck me yesterday after observing people on the train etc is; Why are the temple areas so sensitive, even if you don't have any male pattern baldness or managed to keep a good hair at 40+.

So I know there are people at 50+ with not the slightest thinning at the temples, but for the vast majority of people, even people with almost no male pattern baldness, the temples seems more sensitive to the dht.

So wether you have male pattern baldness or not - why is the temple areas always more prone to getting thinner? Why are they so sensitive to dht?

Its not always the temples. Some people start balding from the back and the last thing to go is the temples. others get a general diffusion with no temple recession. The first signs of male pattern baldness is usually the temples because it is the most common hair loss pattern, but just like with everything else there are exceptions.
