Why are people skeptical of (male) non male pattern baldness related hair loss?

Why do people insist that if you're a man and have hair loss it is always male pattern baldness? Guess what? I don't have male pattern baldness. i went to my dermatologist and I have alopecia aerata. But people on here will still say you're just in "denial". Well, I don't have male pattern baldness and my hair loss is temporary and caused by an auto immune disorder.

Conversely, for women they will make every excuse that hair loss is non-genetic. They will deny that women can have genetic hair loss just like men do. I don't buy the 95% genetic statement either . Where did that ever come from? Most likely people trying to sell hair loss remedies. . I would even venture to guess at least half of hair loss is non-genetic and caused by other factors in both men and women.

If u lose hair in the Norwood patterns u have genetic hairloss. Sorry to burst your bubble if that's your case. If u do have thinning/balding in those areas you may have alopecia aerate on top of male pattern baldness.

Either way no need to shove it in people's faces that your hairloss is "temporary"
