Why am I losing hair on the sides (and even back) of my head?

I'm shedding all over, including the side and back of my head. I've got a receding hairline also, and the classic male pattern baldness pattern I think, but is it common to have thinning in these places? Im pretty sure its male pattern baldness and not Telogen Effluvium, but Im able to easily pull out hair from my chest, legs, arms, and pubes, by giving gentle tugs. Could this be a sign of a different type of hairloss?

There is something known as DUPA -- Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia -- that affects a small number of people. That might be something you could look into, or better yet seek help from a dermatologist that is skilled in the field of hair loss.

Coulda be DUPA as mentioned earlier, maybe a combo of retrograde alopecia and regular male pattern baldness, but none of those should affect your body hair. So it could be something like alopecia totalis/universils can't remember which one involves the entire body. Are you on finasteride/Propecia/dutasteride? I've read some people experience thinning body hair while on it.

Either way if your losing a good portion of head hair / body hair go seek a specialist.
