I guess I come close but under 2ml. I only use it once a day.

Now if next you are going to ask if I have had any negative side effects from doing so, no.

Thats wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over doing it.

Slow down and be more deliberate. There is no need to apply that much.

Anyone who tells you that you are over using it is wrong. Rogaine company says apply 1 ML ( to the back) now most of us apply it all over. My only advice is make sure you apply it to a dry scalp as when it's damp it gets absorbed much more ( no evidence showing it improves results) but you could get side effects. 2 ML is fine if you are dispensing it all over. Remember the company shows a guy using 1 ML on what a small bald spot (vertex) add the hairline and mid anterior of the scalp 2 ML is just fine!

All the best,
Rich

What you need to understand is that minoxidil spreads a bit naturally on the scalp. Every spot does not need to get a drop.

You are over saturating your scalp and wasting it. Especially at twice a day.

I use 3ml because I think it's quicker, I just squirt it on mostly without looking and
I assume I'm getting good coverage. A lot is probably is wasted. I have noticed
that the hair on the back and sides of my head is thicker than ever and I assume that
some of this might be due to minoxidil running down the sides and back as it does. But I'm
using a shitload of chems so I have no clue what is causing that area to be thicker.

I use 1.5ml twice daily.

It usually takes about an hour and half to dry, which in the morning is a pain as i can't style my hair. I use 1ml on the crown and top of my head and the 0.5ml and my temples.

I used to splash it around as well, 2x2ml daily... After 4 months of overusing minoxidil I didn't get any extraordinary results, so I cut back to 2x1ml or 1x1.5 daily.

Some days I just know I'm not gonna apply it twice, so I just put a bit extra.

That's what I was thinking. I've heard of people having an increase in thickness in their beard after taking min for a while.

i might go to a doctor to get my blood pressure tested so i can compare it in a year to this if using over the amount of minoxidil effects it.

Buy a cheap blood pressure machine! If minoxidil was bothering your heart beat you would feel it! Don't go over board, this forum can make you go a bit over board so just see how things go. If you feel the need go buy a very cheap blood pressure machine, I think you are over doing it as far as going to the doctor 2 ML is fine!

The hairloss pattern you described sounds exactly like mine.
Does you scalp itch like a motherf'ker?

anything over 1.5 ml is excessive in my opinion. I used to apply around 1.5 ml once at night for almost a year. Towards the end before i quit, my face used to be swollen, always had a slight head ache/tiredness.

Using 2 ml or even more caused my scalp to be really irritated. I'm trying 1ml now. It takes longer to apply evenly, but so far the irritation is almost gone.

EDIT: Nope, it's back. I'm quitting the liquid and see what'll happen. If my hair gets worse i'll try the foam.
