Hi,

Anybody here use 100% aloe vera gel (fruit of the earth is my brand), or emu oil.. and swear that they have helped you significantly in one way or another?

I'm a big believer in aloe vera.. and the brand I use has definately helped to sooth my scalp and skin in general.

I haven't used emu oil in a long time, but I may go back to it again.

I just wonder if they have actual healing properties to them (emu oil/aloe), and if they can help stimulate hair growth by calming irritation.

Answer to my thread question (since nobody else has one):

NOBODY BELIEVES IN EMU OIL OR ALOE VERA. period.

The data suggests that they (especially emu oil) do "wake up" dormant follicles and stimulate growth.

Yes, I use them both. But I don't think they do anything at all. Now I add them to my other products. But when I exclusively used them for 3 months each, I saw no change. The hair fell like the snow in December.

suggestion: don't add aloe gel to your conditioner.

i tried that a while back. the aloe turned my conditioner into cottage cheese. i had globules of crap in my hair all day.

I used Emu Oil for a while, but it made my hair very greasy. I also didn't notice any real effect either way.

Copper Peptide forumulas do basically the same thing -- keep your scalp healthy and reduce irritation -- so I switched over to Tricomin.

Tricomin is more expensive, but it's also easy to spray on to wet hair after a shower and style as normal. It even gives a slight hold to the hair as it dries.

The only place I could ever find the Feuit of the Earth 100% Aloe gel was at CVS but now it appears they've discontinued it for a version of their brands. It looks the same and says it's 100%, so it should be the same stuff?

the best truly all natural aloe you can buy is aubrey organics 100% aloe. it is more of a liquid consistency and I am planning on trying it. the price is not bad either- on sale it's like 7 bucks. i will update if it works.

Don't write off Emu Oil. OK, some is like snake oil, the stuff from USA farms is all bound to be crap, because the Emu needs nutrients only available in its native Australia. The USA and other non Aussie farms could be churning out turkey bollocks oil for all we know.
It has to be 100% Australian. I'm not Australian. However, I have new hair, and emu oil is one of my things.
Hope this helps.
