If you have male pattern baldness, then taking Propecia will not make it worse. The shed would be old hairs being lost to new stronger hairs. Wait until the 6 month mark or more to assess.

yeah dude FOOO SHOOOW

no one has answered your question because we dont know if you will get your hair back

and we didnt want you to think your in a hopeless situation

i hope you get your hair back

but i think you have male pattern baldness and RH

meaning you were destined to be where you are right now sooner or later

sorry you were one of the few who didnt respond and actually made things worse

THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN VERY OFTEN

so it's kinda whack you keep telling people finasteride will make their hair worse and crying about it :sobbing:

sorry mate

cheers

There is a poster on HLH named William the Bloody. He stopped taking Propecia and said his hair improved. He even went from a higher Norwood level to a lower one by stopping. I think its been over a year now and he claims his hair is better. After reading his story I was tempted to ween off it myself but I am too afraid of what the consequences may be.

Haha the way you type man, it reminds of that scene in Austin Powers.

"Yes... I'm having difficulty controlling THE VOLUME OF MY VOICE. "

I almost didn't wanna post this but I read your story. Honestly I don't know why you got on the meds. Your hair looked fine. I know you wanted to catch it early but could it be that you didn't have male pattern baldness and caused some damage by using finasteride?

Doctor House mentioned William The Bloody on HLH.

Apparently his hair got worse after a few years on finasteride; he dropped it, and slowly his hair got better. BUT, he is also using Rogaine twice a day, spironolactone Cream once a day, and Ell Cranell Alpha once a day to fight his male pattern baldness--basically an all-topical approach.

Irish, as someone said, NOBODY knows if your hair will get better. The only way you can find out is to stop it and see. In the meantime I would suggest using a potent topical regimen like the one listed above.

irishpride86, you said your doctor told you to get off of Propecia? That was all he said, the good doctor could not elaborate any more? He did not even have any suggestions to counter the T and RH or any new treatment suggestions?

Curious what number the Doctor says was a high T level on the blood test.
