Who Do I Speak To About Hairloss To Get Prescribed And Non-prescribed Treatment?

I've been suspecting that I'm losing my hair for over a year now. I'm only nineteen and male, so at first I ignored it, then I went through denial about it but now I've accepted that its happening. My hairline isn't in too bad shape, but I've got what I believe is diffuse thinning throughout the top of my scalp. From reading posts on this page, I've gathered that modern preventative methods available are actually a lot more effective than I believed, but all say the same, the sooner you start the more chance you have of saving your hair.

So my question is this, who do I speak to in order to get the relevant tablets for preventing or slowing hair-loss? Do I make a doctors appointment or are there specialists I see? How do I know if the tablets I get put on will be any good as there's so many options? I'm determined to do anything I can to stop or slow-down the hair loss but not sure where to go or who to speak to. Also, if anyone has any recommendations for non-prescribed methods or preventing hair loss I'd very much appreciate it as there's so many options out there, its hard to distinguish what works from what doesn't.

In most countries, you would do it through your ordinary GP. Just ask your GP to write you a prescription for finasteride. In some countries, you can get a prescription discreetly online from a registered pharmacy within that country. Here in the UK, there are several registered pharmacies that offer online finasteride prescription services.
