Who do I see regarding my hair? [UK]

Following on from my first post, I'd like to know how I go on about seeking professional help. I've been to my local doctor (GP) and he's run a blood test and nothing much came out except that I lack Vitamin D. However, I can not go straight to a dermatologist as I need to be referred by my GP to see one, which he doesn't want to do. I have been asking him on several occasions but his response was "There's nothing wrong in your blood and if you go there, they'll only prescribe you expensive things" something along those lines..

However, I noticed that the hair pieces that fall out have this little white tip on the end, and doing a bit of research, it turns out it is shedding. So my GP is saying nothing's wrong with me and meanwhile I'm shedding a shet load of hair

Anyhow, that means I have no choice but to go and seek medical help privately, right? I came across a clinic that offers a free consultation, is this the sort of direction I should go to? Or who exactly do I approach? feeling a bit helpless at the moment.

Oh and also, any good products that can help against shedding? Are these shampoos with the label "for damaged hair" any good?

cheers guys :)

you need to establish if you actually have the beginnings of male pattern baldness. (We can't tell from those photos because you don't show your crown)

whatever any doctor tells you, male pattern baldness has nothing to do with your health or Vit D or diet or anything like that. It's genetic.

hair shedding is also irrelevant. It's miniturization/thinning hair you need to watch for.

If you've decided beyond reasonable doubt you are beginning male pattern baldness, you can consider Propecia and/or Minoxidil, so long as you've weighed up the risks/benefits

good luck
