Dermatch can be like this. I have a high and tight/mohawk style hair do. Short at the sides and some longer hair on top. I have diffuse thinning as well as receding Norwood 3 going on.
I use dermatch first and as a 'first coat' as such, and then finish it off with some nanofibres over the areas that need a bit more coverage.
I know it is overly used but 'less is more' is correct. Give yourself an afternoon, pref some alone time - if your partner/parents/housemates are out the house for a few hours or in bed and experiment in the bathroom with it until you feel happy.
Also, I would recommend a small handheld mirror for the back of your head. As if you don't, it might look like the top of your head is looking fine and then at the back very thin. It also gives you a better idea of how to blend the concealer into your natural hair.
