Hello all, Lurking for a few days and thought I would finally post.

I am thinning badly! I am probably a 5A. I have been using Rogaine for nearly 10 years now. Holding on to as much hair as I possibly can. I did take Propecia off and on, results were good, but didn't want to take a pill everyday so I am off of it now.

Would like to know what other options are out there which have worked for 5A type that has grown hair.

Has Revivogen worked? Is it in conjunction with Rogaine?

What about the S5 cream? how would it work in conjunction with Rogaine and Revivogen?

I am open to doing anything topical, don't want to swallow any pills.

Please let me know what the best steps are for these, if there are some other products I have missed, please let me know what products they are and how they can benefit.

Look forward to your responses.

If you've been using Rogaine for 10 years then you have to stay on that stuff because most of your regrown hair is now dependent on minoxidil. Has it stopped working for you or what? I don't recall ever hearing about the effectiveness dropping off for minoxidil. That is the case with propecia, but not minoxidil.

I highly recommend adding a topical DHT inhibitor. This is what saves your REAL hair. Also, even though I believe it's possible that minoxidil can work all over the scalp... in studies it was shown to be effective only for the vertex. That's why it would be wise to use a minoxidil/DHT combo

There are several options on amazon:

Minoxidil with DHT Inhibitor

"I don't want to take a pill every day"

I'm confused...you'd rather spend 10 minutes applying a topical medication instead of 10 seconds swallowing a pill? ANY hairloss treatment is a lifetime committment, doesn't matter if it's a pill or otherwise.

Propecia really is your bet bet.

All that time, did you ever let a day pass without applying rogaine? Did you switch brands? You work in an office? If so, what type of job? Can you provide some details e.g. height weight?

If you were up for using creams then possibly a combo of

Ketoconazole cream and miconazole cream.

RU seems to be getting quite a run out these days as well.
