Zimmy is a big fan of Biotin shampoo but we all know about those Scottsmen. Anyway I have links if you want them. Nexxus also makes a dandy biotion shampoo. I use emu oil cause I love the fact that I am putting mutilated bird guts on my skull.

Where have you seen something that it grows hair? Everything that I have read only claims hair health and a little added thickness.

Yes I use it all the time even on nizoral days, really helps tame the beast.

Cassin Biotin is good for the hair in any way you want it to be. If you want growth combine it with MSM. Great thickness and overall hair health.

Interesting site. Some good products mixed with a few snakeoils. I might give that Emu oil a try since I can't seem to use any other product without it frying my scalp.

Do you use Emu oil Redbone? And what do you think of it if you do?

Emu oil will not act as a 5a-reductase inhibitor because the linolenic acid in emu oil is not in its "free" form.

Perhaps, but they also sell Emu oil pills, the shampoo makes the scalp feel marvelous, especially after the use of minoxidil. It is a good product and you cant go wrong for $12. I am also going to buy the cleansing shampoo to use one day a week. You must have clean follicles to get better hair growth.

Here is a post from a highly educated scientific type named "kofi" who posts on alt.baldspot. Seems according to him that Biotin is only helpful if you are lacking in it, in your system. Same basic logic behind taking vitamins for hair loss. Unless you're nutritionally deficient, taking more nutrients may not do much. Here is his post:

This was my feeling on the subject initially, 0.5mg of biotin is probably just as useful for hair as 2.5mg imo.

Thats true but as the FDA has set it up for daily values you probably have to eat like 10lbs of red cabbage to get the daily value of Biotin. Most of us have shotty diets and dont get near the nutrients we should. Supplementing is a good thing.
