Hi there! I'm 21 and have noticed my hairline has receded a bit towards the temples. I'm unsure however where this is on the the norwood scale, even after looking through norwood charts, etc. Thanks for any help!

actually he has plenty of hair left to keep on his head. i wouldn't say he has to shave it all off quite yet.

what's wrong with u guys??? we're supposed to help people retain their hair, not tell them to shave it off!! there are plenty of forums on head shaving but this is for hair loss treatments!! and besides, an NW2 is certainly not in a position to just give up and shave his head!!

there's plenty out there and get on finasteride or dutasteride straight away, good luck!!

templemonk, you came looking for help, many on this forum gave you help. Why do you insist on giving this bad advice? I have seen a few posts where you do this. Why?

i'm 29 and my temples are kinda like yours ...i started finpecia about 6 months ago and minoxidil about 2 months ago and my temples have filled in a lot i recommend u to do that as well! give it time but with both u will see results! the minoxidil really made it take off

The good thing is that you can still see a lot of the minaturized hairs toward the inside so those will likely become healthy again.

Maybe he thinks that if he can make others do it, even if they definitely don't need to, and he sees that they follow through and for some unfathomable reason they post on here "thanks for the advice templemonk, now i feel more like a man!," he'll work up the courage to take his own advice.

Norwood 2. You caught your hair loss early! Just find a strong regime and things should get better, goodluck

Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem. It very well might stay there for years anyway, a huge percentage of adults have a hairline like that for much of their life. My grandpa was stuck at norwood 3 for about 20 years (and now unfortunately I seem to have followed in his footsteps). I'd suggest propecia just in case it was going to progress, and if it really bugs you grow your hair kind of long and brush it backwards. When I do that it almost totally covers the recessed temples. Or copy clint eastwood's look in his later movies (like...the outlaw josey wales) and be a total badass. :p

cuz i figure shaving head and getting over with it is the best solution instead of going thru medications.
i really appreciate all your help.
but i am doing what is best for me and i give the best advice i think it is for him. cuz male pattern baldness will progress even more and we all know there is no solution for hairloss at this time.
im not trying to give bad advices intentionally. i mean.. all of you guys say the same thing like get on the big 3 immediately ..about finasteride/dutasteride and other products... what is wrong with another balding guy giving different advice? you guys say what you guys say what you guys think the best and i do the same.. freedom of speech! its not like im cussing at people for no reason here. this is forum.. people have different opinions and i dont have any problem with people ignoring my opinion when they feel that its wrong. :D

um you're on a hair loss ttreatment forum. this forum isn't meant for you to advise people to shave their head when they are only a nw2. do what you want but stop bringing your sh*t into a lot of different threads.

there's a good chance that if he gets on finasteride or dutasteride or eventually dutasteride that his hair loss will slow dramatically, liek to a crawl and he may go bald twenty years later than he would have. to urge him to shave his head now is stupid.

temple monk knows thousands of people browse this site, and now that he has his regimen down, he is trying to get rid of the competition.

hes apparently not on a regimen at all but maybe he actually is and is doing exactly what you said he is college. don't continue being a scumbag, templemonk. people come here looking for advice on regrowth and maintenance, and they aren't looking for someone to tell them to shave their head.

he says there's no solution right now for hair loss. that's transparent bull**** right there. there is no CURE for hair loss, but there are plenty of solutions. Propecia, Nizoral, Minoxidil, copper peptides, spironolactone, etc. If someone were to use all of these then chances are their hair loss would slow to a crawl and they may get some solid regrowth. so he need sto stop being dumb.

so then i can't even say what i think is right here or what?
who the f*** are you guys to tell me not to give advices like shaving head. and this is hairloss forum.. shaving down the head could be the easiest and safest solution someone can possibly come up with.
you motherfuckers sit here tell people to take drugs ( imean its cool cuz i considered it at one point but i changed my mind, i might change my mind again) , let me say what i wanna say.
dont be dogging on me cuz you have no life other than this site and your hairloss treatment. you can't shave it cuz you are too ugly just shut up.
let me say what i wanna say geez.
