The forelock seems a bit receding, as the temples. But you are very very young, so a visit to a derm can tell if you are a good candidate for Finasteride based on your general health, age. If this drug works for you, you have a very realistic chance to keep your hair.
If it does not work, it could be more difficult.
Are your grandparents bald/thinning?

Well that is the problem ....Brother 25: NW3A ....Father: Norwood 7 (went there pretty early) Grandfather Maternal: Also Norwood 7 (although my mother claims he had full hair until his sixties).... So i am rather paranoid and went on Dutasteride+nizoral... pretty crazy right ?

Lol if you're on dutasteride with that hair you could probably expect to maintain it your entire life, or until a full cure comes out.

Wait wait wait... How old are you man. But With these ultra thick hairs NW2 will look like mines NW0. Great hairs anyway.

You really cant do more then dutasteride, and on dutasteride I think your chances of maintaining are very good for a long time. There is some risk with long term sides, otherwise its very smart to get on that right away especially with a bad history of male pattern baldness. You might not ever go bald but you have to take dutasteride now forever possibly there is no going back or wondering if you ever had to take it to begin with.
In the world of male pattern baldness nothing is really crazy. There are guys trying nofap, random diets, and whatever other snake oil they can try all in hopes of it helping

Do you think the same goes for finasteride? I started taking finasteride with nearly a full head of hair (minus slightly receded temples) over 2 years ago when I was 18 and was wondering how I could expect to maintain with finasteride. So far so good.

So first off.. thanks for all the anwsers. This forum always has helped me a lot (i am a german guy and i like your forum way more then the german counterpart). And yeah i am 20 years old. Just thinking about maybe adding RU... on the other side i dont have infinite money and it would be a huge hassle to use RU on such long thick hairs. And if somebody asks why i jumped on dutasteride before finasteride.. my reason is the following.... in my opinion 5AR Typ 2/ the DHT which is build through 5 ARII is the main culprit of Hairloss ( reason why people with a 5AR II deficincy never get male pattern baldness)... Dutasteride inhibits 5AR II about 99%... so it really should keep your hair for life.... or at least i hope so. And if all things (or in my case the hairline) goes south i still got some spironolactone and Androcur here..... but using that would probably be to crazy...even for me.

Honestly if you're taking dutasteride with a full head of hair, I think that is all you need. I've only been using finasteride with a full head of hair and it has worked so far for me.

Also, doesn't finasteride inhibit Type 2 by 90%? I think that should be enough and I definitely think it is safer for the long term because it won't be messing with Type 1 that much.
