There is no proof that it works for 10 years thats how. It is proven to work 5 years with results declining somewhat at that point. That is the only proof we have.

Maybe if you didnt start off by calling strangers idiots for stating something that you dont know is untrue, we'd be more inclined to help.

Really, man. Whos going to respond to a statement like that?

... but he did capitalize the "Q" in "Question" so I reckon his little demand must be real significant!

This is the longest study available... http://www.propecia.com/finasteride/pro ... veness.jsp
Nobody knows how much finasteride will be better than placebo at 10 years (that study isn't out) but as the trends show even if treated people eventually become worse than they started on average they will likely continue to be MUCH better off than if they didnt take finasteride. People who post saying it stopped working for them might be poor responders, or might not realize where they would be if they weren't taking finasteride (it is blocking DHT production for them even after years).

I just had my 7 year finasteride *burp*anniversary and it's still doing its job for me. I started popping at 19 and now I'm 26 with a good head of hair. I still have receding temples and I do believe my hairline creeps back year after year, but the chnge is VERY slow and I look pretty normal for someone in my mid 20's. At 19 , at the rate of loss I was having, I would have been a bald jackass by now.

One guy on here has been using for 12 years now and he's pretty much maintained what he has.
