I'm 23 currently and my hair has been thinning at a rapid pace since five months ago. It's all mainly in the frontal area. Based upon the small amount of research I've done I plan to begin taking finasteride 1 mg daily. I did go in today to get my prescription from my doctor and he mainly just said that the thing about finasteride is that once you stop using it, you will just start losing hair again thus it can be very costly long term. He told me to consider a hair transplant because it could be a long term solution.

Questions:
1) I just stopped by Walgreens and they said 100 count, 1mg finasteride would set me back $293?!?! Where should I go?

inhousepharmacy is probably the most popular thing on this forum, never seen any reports of a bad pill coming from there.

I e-mailed my doctor and his only concern is that it may be difficult to cut the tablets into fourths or fifths. What has everyone's experience been what that?

For those, that have tried both the 1 mg propecia before switching over to the generic, is it equally as effective?
