Where to get spironolactone? and how do you use it?

i have been doing some researching...and i think ill give finasteride a try in a month or two
now i am doing Nizoral, MSM, Jasons Thin to Thick for the Shampoo/Conditioner, and Tricomin

I want to get spironolactone...been hearing good things...where is the best place to get it? how good does it work?

You can get it from unitedpharmacies.com. I hope you plan on using it as a topical though? Search this forum, there's some threads on dissolving some of the tablets into a cream base to rub on your head.

spironolactone works in that it inhibits DHT topically/locally (on your hair/scalp). Whereas, Propecia and dutasteride inhibits DHT internally. spironolactone helps in maintaining your hair and it's a good alternative, however, it depends on the type of hair loss you are experiencing. If you are experiencing diffuse thinning for instance -- I wouldn't recommend spironolactone as it would be inconvenient to use as a topical. It would be a bit hard and messy to apply. Plus, it'll likely give off an odor since you have to use so much of it.

But if you are experiencing hair loss only in small specific areas (such as the temples), then spironolactone is fine. It will be easy and quick to apply since that area is small. And its unlikely you'll experience any odor after its application. I'd say the best place to get the spironolactone from is http://www.genhair.com . However, as the other poster said, you can make it cheaply yourself if you dont mind making it on your own.

i would just rather buy it..not mess with making it myself.....i am receding around the temples........what are the sides im hearing about.....like getting into your system....and other stuff like that....is it new? is there alot of research on it?

There are no side-effects with Topical spironolactone. But there is a chance of side-effects if using ORAL spironolactone (where you digest a tablet like how Propecia is used). Oral spironolactone is supposed to be more effective, but its risky. So that's where you are getting the confusion about side-effects. Topical spironolactone is one of the safest dht-inhibitors around since it doesn't have sides. If you are only receding around the temples, than Topical spironolactone wont be a problem. Try GenHair's version (it's the best one, but its pricey since they only sell it as a 3-bottle package @ $90 bucks) or Dr. Lee's version.

I think so. It's only for United States orders that a prescription and/or consultation is required.

its worth adding if you can be bothered with applying it twice a day as its
just so cheap. a tub from dr lee should last you at least a couple of
months if youre only applying it to a small area.

how do you dissolve spironolactone? in ethyl alcohol? water? can i mix it in with minoxidil?
