Little bit of a background : I'm 24 almost 25 been losing hair since 21 didn't start treatment til about 10 months ago started first with minoxidil foam 5% then after a month jumped onto Finasteride and used nizoral hear and there. After 4 months of treatment I got a terrible 24/7 constant itch with heavy dandruff this was my life for the next 5 months at this time i discontinued minoxidil and used a topical steroid for 2 weeks once a day as directed by my derm. Ive been itch free for a month although still have a little dandruff flakes only in my crown area. I stopped using finasteride for only 9 days and have been back on it for a month (experiment to figure out what was causing the itch). Now i know about the post minoxidil shed and i do feel like my hairline has gotten much worse thus the decision for the buzz cut, i figured i rather buzz my head in an attempt to make an illusion of evenness. Does anyone have any experience or stories of when they quit minoxidil (been off for a month and a week) ? I'm still on treatment (finasteride AND RU) should i still expect progress even though im in that post minoxidil hairloss cycle?

What do you guys think of the buzz cut do i have a good head shape ? i feel that i can short of rock it only cause i stay physically fit and am not fat lol

Thank guys still getting used to my new look and i def. feel uncomfortable in public, especially in the sunlight. Only place i don't feel uncomfortable which is quite strange is the gym even with the bright light i feel like a good looking dude probably from dat dere muscle pump.

I think you look quite good and normal with a shaved head, wish I could sport a shaved head like you can. And the fact you are built also helps. A lot of people around here say a beard also looks good on a shaved head, you should give it a go if you're comfortable with that.

Man i wish i could grow a badass beard but sadly and i can only grow a chin strap but either way i must have a clean shave for work / school so it doesnt matter anyways, but thanks for the compliment !

You still have an hairline so it's not the worse case scenario.

my hairline is getting worse monthly most likely due to the stoppage of minoxidil

No problem friend, and don't worry that much about bright lights. The front of your scalp and temples doesn't look bad, don't think people will think you're balding.

It pretty much just looks like I'm bald in sunlight lol i hope people think i buzz by choice and not cause im balding :p

looks solid like that broski, doesnt even look weird at all.

Thanks bro ! hopefully i get lose to much ground since quitting minoxidil and perhaps gradually get regrowth with the treatments im currently on i mean im almost reaching the 9th month on finasteride

holy crap, you have a lot more hair than me, trust me on that!! I am surprised you even buzz it man (I know you probably hate people telling you this, because only you know how you feel about it)... but yeah, if that was grown out 2 inches, do you even think you would notice any thinning?

Yeah man trust me it's looks so bad long. The thin spots are extremely noticeable and it just looks overall unkept.. My hair has gotten thinner and the corners of my hairline are leaving me since quitting minoxidil I except this. I don't necessary like the buzz cut you can see my entire scalp but I gotta work with what I got

If my hairline/crown continues to thin within the next three months Ima just no guard it. Something weird that comforts me is most people in my station are bald .. My EMT partner is bald at 23 and most of the caps and Chiefs are slick bald lol so I don't feel out of place it's only when I hang out with my regular friends when I feel uncomfortable and like they are constantly looking at my head .. I've known them for years and it's weird that I no longer have hair when I rock a pretty cool hairstyle back in the glory days

If they are real friends they'll accept you just the way you are. It's not like they're friends with you because of your hair. And the buzz does actually look pretty good on you anyway, as far as I can tell.

It's looking good bro. What I've learned is acceptance of my lack of hair- I started buzzing at 23 years old. People will make jokes about it but I don't let it get to me, I make jokes too to lighten the mode a little. And going to the gym definitely helps with acceptance / confidence . I started writing a blog about my experiences if you wanna check out my full story : https://baldisbeautifulsite.wordpress.com/ Let me know what you think?

Its not like they don't accept me they still hit me up to hangout and don't ignore me or anything lol but i can tell they are like "why are you balding" in their minds lol they have zero balding so they cant understand how horrible this can be. I'm slowly accepting my new look but still praying treatments start to work at least at thicken the hairs i do have i could care less about regrowth i have good coverage just thin hair

if you were my friend and had your hair like that i wouldnt even be able to rip on your for balding, you look fine man, it looks more like a personal decision than a pressured decision.

you literally have a perfect hairline dude, would never think you are balding. Maybe you are somewhat diffuse but with treatments that should fix itself.
