Where can you buy Nizoral in the UK?

As far as I know, 1% is an "over the counter" shampoo but for 2% you need a doctor's prescription.

If you are really after 2%, you should either see your GP and get a prescription or you can order it online at your own risk.

Not the case - I'm in the UK and buy the 2% from Boots over the counter. Tesco has it's own brand as well (2%) with the same active ingredient (Ketocanazole ..or whatever it is called :) )

Only in America.. In Australia and the UK both the 1% and 2% are OTC..

Re nizoral in uk

Just nip down to boots, they sell their own brand, as well as nizoral and ketopine (the ingredient your looking for is ketoconozole) make sure it contains 2%.Buy the Ketopine large bottle, about £8 for 100ml i think to make a further saving. failing boots, tesco and asda and most pharmacies should also have it.

Remember, small 5 pence piece dollop, leave in hair for 3-4 minutes. always wash off. use 2 to 3 times per week after your main shampoo (which should be good quality with no bullshit ingredients) as a conditioner.Dont overuse this stuff, it really dries the scalp.

For those ppl in the UK you may be interested to know chemist direct do proscar (the merck and Dohme stuff for thos worried about indian generics like fincar etc) for £55 for 90 tabs (12 mths supply), you need a private prescrition for it tho. Lucklily i was recommended a doctor who uses proscar (belives in its efficacy, is well clued up about the big 3)and is able to provide private prescrition for a nominal charge about £20ish i think. My GP and others havent a clue about male pattern baldness treatments

5 pence piece dollop? Are you sure? I tend to use about the equivalent of two 50p coins???

Is this too much?

I would imagine it's pretty negligible how much you use, unless your scalp gets ridiculously dry and itchy. I usually use HEAPS of Nizoral on my head every few days, and my scalp feels fine. My advice would be to use as much as you feel comfortable with, and try not to be too a*** about the little things. :hump:

just a small dollop i.e.10 pence piece. two fifty pence pieces are quite lot in my opinion. even when you shampoo with other shampoos, a dollop is all that is required. you dont have to overdo it with any cleaning product but work with whats best for you. I'd lessen it simply because the -azoles (essentially antifungal) have the 'potential' to be absorbed systematically (not awesome for the liver) so keep it minimal for safe practice and a small amount (10 pence piece) gets the job done.. Make sure you it covers your scalp though especially the vertex and temples, front hairline atc. leave it on for 3 or 4 minutes then rinse off completely.

But i agree with brentrx, dont get too a***. its the big picture that counts.
