When using minoxidil one goes through the shedding stage though it'll never come back the same. True or false?

When using minoxidil one goes through the shedding stage but I don't think it comes back ever the same and it's not because of the progression of of the natural hair loss it's because it damages or kills the hair follicles? The thickness and amount of hair will not be the same even if one quits right after the shedding stage.

I used oral minoxidil and it has done nothing but help and improve the quality of hair. I had a shed but after it passed, I was way above baseline. With topical it didn't do much for me.
