So again my question is what is the earliest you have experienced regrowth from minoxidil, especially in the hairline region?
I started using minoxidil foam a week ago and have been using finasteride with moderate results for about 18 months. My recession has not advanced and i may have even got some hair back but now im looking for real regrowth.

Thanks for replies.

I have been using liquid minoxidil at night and foam in the morning for the past year and a half. I hadn't noticed any thickening of my hair during this time (in fact my hair was continuing to thin) until about a month ago. For the past month or so, I have absolutely noticed my hair becoming significantly thicker. Bear in mind that I made two other changes to my anti-hair loss regimen four months ago. One, I started applying Nizoral 2% every morning and leaving it on for 10 minutes, whereas before I would only apply it two or three times a week and leave it on for five minutes. Second, I started applying the liquid at night to my scalp while it was wet, which apparently leads to better absorption. So, I don't know if the minoxidil took a year and a half to kick in, whether my new regimen with the Nizoral is yielding results and/or whether applying the minoxidil to a wet scalp is having an effect, but my hair is definitely thickening up. You can barely tell my hair is thinning at this point. Assuming my hair continues to thicken, in a couple months or so, I will make a post showing the remarkable recovery from my baby thin hair to my fairly thick hair now. Bear in mind that I take both Dutasteride and Finasteride every night. Without these, I doubt the minoxidil would be having an effect at all.

Then minoxidil probably doesn't work for you and it's the anti-androgens, who are doing the job.
