It all depends. A 35 year old who's just drifted into nw1.5 with a good family history is probably fine. A 20 year old who just hit nw1.5 with a bunch of hard boiled eggs in his family should probably strongly consider it immediately.

Often the problem is you just don't know how quickly your hair loss is going to progress. I wish instead of waiting until 26 to start using it, I got on it at 18, then I would have saved most of my hair at 30. It's easy to say that with hindsight though. A lot of guys do wait until their hair loss is moderate, and that makes it difficult to get back the lost hair unless you're a great responder.

All depends on how aggressive you hairloss is. Although the golden rule is, especially when you're young to start with safer treatments like zix or minoxidil/needling combo to see if you can get maintenance or atleast a reduction in hairloss. If that's not enough get on oral fina. (and of course give every treatment the time so you can really evaluate, so don't stop after 1 month and say it doesn't work. Most hairloss treatments need 6 months to tell you if it really works or not)

Yeah but if you are young then your hair loss is probably aggressive, that's not always the case but i think finasteride should always been seen as the first line of treatment, if possible oral sides put you off then try topical instead. Zix is interesting but has nowhere near the amount of scientific literature backing it up.
