What if your local pharmacy had a sale on 2% Rogaine so that its price (per gram of minoxidil) were slightly cheaper than the 5% version of Rogaine? In such a case, which one would you buy?

Not me. I'd buy the 2%, and wouldn't even think twice about it.
BTW, it's certainly not out of the question that using 2.5 mL of the 2% solution instead of 1 mL of the 5% solution may be more effective at growing hair. Remember that study that found that a higher percentage of alcohol in the topical vehicle led to a greater penetration of minoxidil through the skin?![]()
