very confusing situation guys. this is for people taking finasteride.
i was thinning in the NW5A region. did not goto a derm as such as they suck in my area and just push you off towards a hair transplant.
anyway, my thinning got bad on the vertex, slight temple recession, and frontal thinning. so i started taking finasteride and minoxidil.
i was taking 1/5 proscar everyday plus 1 ml of 5% minoxidil in the morning and at night.
around the 10th day of this treatment i shed over 200 hair all of a sudden (a very rapid increase from my usual 20-30 hair a day). i stopped my minoxidil by around the 12th day (too much of a hassle) but continued the finasteride.
now the thing is...its the end of the month on finasteride...and i've still been shedding since the 10th day . hair from ALL over my head including back even towards the neck. i would take my hand throughh the back of my head and end up with 5-6 hair everytime. totally t.e like symptoms. i'm still losing around 100+ hair every single day including from the back.
what i want to know is..is this shed because of minoxidil?..but i only applied minoxidil to my crown and temples? why am i losing hair from the back?...and if its from finasteride...why within 10 days?!..everybody complains of the shed at about the 1 - 6 month mark..i started shedding like anything just at the 10th day of treatment? and why hair from the safe zone?..
shedding is because hair follicles are stimulated by treatment and shift from telogen to the anagen phase to regrow a new hair and shed all the hair you're supposed to right?.. do you think its this...or that finasteride just gave me a t.e cause i'm shedding in the safe zone (back) too?
