I don't think it's nearly effective as oral finasteride. I don't think it lowers blood serum DHT levels. Only scalp DHT levels. It probably has less side effects though.

I know, that's the reason I want it topical!
Any brands/products in mind?

I'm using master formula Finastopic from Isdin, which apparently has been widely prescripted here in Spain lately.

That sounds pretty good too. Interesting thing is that according to my doctor, best results are obteined when combined with oral, which somehow contradicts the original purpose of avoiding oral finasteride sides....

The topical really is equivalent to oral. It only gets maybe five to ten percent more DHT (or less DHT) in the
scalp. So it's about the same as oral. Slightly better, but not much.

When you say both, you are referring to both liquid and oral Finasteride?

Yes. Topical Finastopic and oral finasteride 1 mg. Both daily. That's my current treatment prescripted by the specialist. I fully understand what you mean. However, according to her logics, it has kind of sinergies and topical reduce locally DHT where oral can't get so far by its own. I admit I was surprised at first but I put myself 100% on her hands...

So, has any of you guys had had good results on liquid finasteride?
I have only been on it for 5 weeks now. Too soon to report anything conclusive. One of my concern is that since I am combining oral and liquid I will never know how much effect did the liquid by itself....

Wow, lot's of reactions guys!
Do you think I can get a prescription from my doctor and that I can get it via my doctor aswell.
Don't really like to buy this on internet. Or does anyone have a good site for me?

I see this site offers S5 cream. Isn't that topical finasteride too?

Did you just get it from your doctor or dermatologist? Anyone know about the S5 cream on this website?

Just came back from my doctor and said she's never heard of it. BS imo, I know it's out there.
She's gonna call a dermatologist and I hope for a better solution there

What's the difference between H&S and the one I'm using? I think the master formula is pretty similar with minoxidil 5% and finasteride. If the point is ti avoid sides, I have 0 sides so far.

Hi all, Hey does anyone have any experience using finasteride topical from India that you can get on ebay known as Morr-F (Minoxidil/finasteride.) 5%/0.1% (60mL) ? I know topical finasteride has tremendous application and would like to try it as I am sick of the side effects I get from both finasteride and dutasteride...Anyone know if this stuff is legit or has anyone tried it? I would so love to get off dutasteride & finasteride oral.If not there where is the easiest and best place to obtain it...?..help

Could anybody be so kind to explain me what's special about this H&W topical finasteride? What does make it different to other formulas? Asking because I'm using another common one.

Read the link above dude.

It's liposomal, so it will penetrate into the deeper tissues for sure, it's better than the plain jane alcohol vehicle.

also this...

Novel, high tech methods of transcutaneous drug delivery have been examined to see if we can simply “lock” the drug into the scalp and avoid systemic absorption.

For the past few years I have been researching this option. I have joined with a pharmacological company (specializing in transcutaneous drug delivery systems) and the University of Milan, Italy in trying to produce such a topical preparation.

We have produced a liposomal gel containing silicone particles which “anchor” the liposomes at the skin level. This prevents most of the drug from moving further into the tissue.

Our current preparation ,which we have been supplying to a group of test patients in Italy is soon to be available worldwide. The effectiveness appears to be equal to oral Finasteride but serum levels are 1/18th that of the oral route. We have had no reports of any sexual side effects in any of the test group (+/- 100 patients). Many of these patients have been on the oral form and had to quit on account of side effects.
