hello everyone
i've started taking proscar (1/5) for about 1 months.and i'm feeling pain during masturbating and sex in my prostate side.could it be related to finasteride ??

please help

i'm planning to give it up if it goes on so

It could be, give it another month. If it persists then go see your Dr or drop it. Would it not be a shame if the side disapeared in 1 months time but you quit now...

Yikes, any pain in that area, I wouldn't wait to get off the drug. If you have strong reactions, I think get off any drug that isn't needed for a *real* health problem.

Or, what you should really try is to take less then 1mg. MANY people report less sides when they reduce dosage. See my sig for details...

No reason why it should cause pain in the prostate. Sounds like you may have another unrelated condition, see your Doctor as soon as possible.

Finasteride shrinks the prostate; otherwise why would people with BPH (i.e. the benign enlargement of the prostate) take the drug at all. Shrinking one's prostate could well be painful, especially in the initial stages.
