What's a "shed" like?

Okay forgive me since this is all new to me, but can someone define a typical "shed" for me. How many hairs are we talking, do you notice them everywhere or just your pillow and shower? Just curious so I know when I am going through one.

It's different for everyone. Some shed alot quickly others may shed at a less constant rate, but for a longer period of time. Think back a month or two even a year and compare how much hair you've been losing then vs what your losing now.

I don't actually mean losing as in they won't come back, a shed is your hairs transitioning from the growing stage to the resting stage....what the h$ll do they need to rest for!!!
