If your doctor thinks it is Telogen Effluvium then I would try to cut down stress as much as possible.Your hairline looks fine to me but one picture where you have pulled your hair back makes it seem like there is some minor recession.Anyway like I said earlier if your doctor thinks its Telogen Effluvium then I wouldn't consider going on finasteride or MIN for that matter. You are only 17 and when I was of your age,I had already receded way beyond the NW2 stage.

I am no expert and I can only advice you based on what I see here. You should always place the opinion of an expert higher than someone like me.Judging by your posts, you seem like you are really stressed and that is making things worse for you.Talk to people who are close to you about this, develop a hobby, have fun at uni and try to forget about hairloss.

You have consulted a doctor and he has ruled out male pattern baldness so do what he tells you to do and put this all behind you.In case things get even a tad worse get another opinion and jump on meds.Right now try to relax and do the things that you love.

i think theyre saying its t.e because they cant believe someone started losing their hair genetically at age 16

but my brother started losing his at 17
my dad lost his when he was 23

so i have a big feeling it is genetic

what im worried about is i got a lot of testosterone, like i had a mustache at age 13, i can grow a decent beard at this age, i got quite a lot of muscle naturally, i am really hairy, got oily skin greasy hair, deep voice etc...all signs of high testosterone

im worried that this combined with genetic hair loss at 17 is too much for any meds to tackle, and that im meant to go bald even tho i dont want to at this age

will finasteride be able to tackle this?

Hmmm....I was an early bloomer too and have a pretty thick full beard[thicker than anybody that I know of my age],I can build up big muscles really fast,I have an oily skin and I am very hairy too.I started showing signs of male pattern baldness at 15,I lost a lot from my temples and lost my overall thickness in three years. From that point on,it progressed rather slowly.I started taking real meds as soon as I found out all the natural treatments that I was doing didn't stop my hair loss even for a few months[I still eat health foods, exercise regularly and I try my best to cut back on stress].

Judging by your family history,it seems like it is male pattern baldness....So the sooner you start the more you can save and yes finasteride can maintain your hair for years.I personally know someone who has been on finasteride for 11 years and has completely halted his hair loss for all these years.

Can someone answer these questions for me please:

- How much Fina should I take and how often?

- If I start nizoral and Fina at age 17.5, could I experience a big shed? (because I'm not allowed to wear a hat in my college and really don't want it to get any worse)

- Where can I buy Fina (online, cheaper?) and Nizoral

- How often do I use nizoral, and what do I use on days I don't use nizoral? What % aswell

- Do young people react better to meds or is it random?

- With nizoral and Fina alone could I maintain reasonably well and possible regrow any on the hairline?

- Do I need to use minoxidil?

1.Start with the recommended 1mg a day dosage.
2.You can never predict such things. You might shed or you won't but your hair will definitely be benefited by it if you have male pattern baldness.
3.There are plenty of websites around but most guys here buy it from inhousepharmacy.Generic ones like FINPECIA are cheaper and work just the same.
4.Use nizoral 2-3 times a week.
5.It is generally agreed that the earlier you start, the more you can save.
6.Yes you can maintain with finasteride and nizoral alone.
7.No you don't need to use MIN right from the start. If finasteride works fine for you i.e. gives you maintanance and regrowth, you wont even have to consider MIN.

Also I'm lifting weights around 3 times a week, does this increase testosterone and make things more bad ? (when on finasteride)

and should I use nizoral AFTER i workout to get rid of the sebum etc

ty

also, how long does it take for finpecia to arrive from inhouse pharmacy?

Another thing, is there anyway it isn't male pattern baldness?

I mean, it is just soo severe at 17 and there's no real pattern, it's just all over. On the sides, back, top, everywhere.

And if it isn't male pattern baldness could propecia make it worse?

I would try propecia(finasteride). I started it when I was 18, and am now 21.

My hair line has stayed pretty consistent for the previous three years, with some minor thinning.

I am now starting a Nizoral and Rogaine regiment along with propecia.

If you have weird sides, just quit it. I don't have any I don't think...My penis still gets really hard with veins and stuff! YAY

It doesn't look like male pattern baldness to me mate, it looks like a patchy form of DPA or maybe DUPA. (Telogen Effluvium).
Your hairline is receded only so far as to make a mature hairline. This is not indicative of male pattern baldness.

As far as I know there's no real cure for Telogen Effluvium, other than solving the problem that made it occur in the first place.
When that is done, the hair will grow back as it does normally (sometimes, this happens for no reason.)

I doubt you have male pattern baldness at all and so taking male pattern baldness treatments will just be a waste of time.

this is what worries me man

i dunno, some trichologists tell me it is male pattern baldness, some tell me it is Telogen Effluvium

my hairline is getting worse, so i think it is male pattern baldness

but if its Telogen Effluvium and I take finasteride, could it make things worse?

my crown is thinning a lot too, i really think its aggressive male pattern baldness
