What would you rather have? (type of balding)

I think people with a thick NW1 and then a bald spot 3-4 inches across just look jarring.
I saw one the other day, he had a thick NW1 but when I saw the top of his head - huge bald spot.
It just looks damned odd, like it shouldn't be there.

I'd take a NW3 if the rest was thick. It's "balding" rather than "bald".
A crown baldspot opens you up for baldness jokes, as mentioned before, and diffuse ugly hair just makes you look ill.

Of course you can get the best if you go for diffuse hair and use Toppik, but, well, that's cheating. And using Toppik every day is a palaver in itself.

Crown is a win here, receding hair-line means you lose facial proportions and that really has a dramatic effect on your looks.
